SUPPORT GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND
RESOURCES TO HELP YOU
Back to MS Links
The
best way to get through grieving is to allow yourself time to mourn, and
feel numb or angry -- whatever it takes to find closure.
Society often expects people to overcome their grief
within a year, but this is unrealistic. A study by the National
Institutes of Mental Health, for example, found that it can take three
to four years to overcome grief after losing a spouse. If grieving
prevents you from coping with everyday life, you may need to be treated
for depression. With time, the pain does generally lessen.
